Normal operating temperature
What's this for most SR20s? Like actual water temperature, not "my needle sits at like 1/3". I could care less where people's needle sit.

Example: If I let here sit there and let her warm up and everything she goes to about 96°C (about 205°F) and levels off. On a stupid hot day in Atlanta in rush hour traffic of doom, she levels off at about 98°C (about 208.5°F). Normal driving around being temps are about 88°C (190°F).

I also have a GTi-R, which I've been told runs a little hotter. Now I have been through the FSM a few times and couldn't find it. I've never had any running troubles or ever over heated or anything, I was just wondering what everyone else ran at.

Thanks!

My former normal DE and my GTi-R swap run exactly the same temp range.

I have no idea what anyone else is running at. I swear somewhere I saw someone say normal temp was 86°C, but I can't find that again anywhere so I was just trying to find out what everone else has. I've ran with these temps for close to 5 years now.

Dude, and that sucks you are only getting 17mpg. Something is up with that. I average about 24; and that's with an even mix of highway and city. And I lay on the boost a lot...

Mine were in that same range when I had the gauge installed.

It runs somewhere around 90 degrees Celsius, and fans kick in at 100 degrees.

I asked around all the GTi-R forums.. and they all say it´s just normal for a 1 bar setup. For one, I am sure I need a repro, I can´t lean out the A/F when it goes above 12psi, at 12psi I´m at 12:1, and at 16psi it goes down (up?) to 10.5.

Ya, a good tune should help that a lot.

I've got stand-alone so take this with a grain of salt.
Very recent coolant flush and thermostat replacement due to creeping temps.
The factory thermostat opens at 76.5°C and left to idle on a decently hot day it will slowly creep up until 88°C or so where I have the fans kick in. Driving around town on a summer's day in the South I see about 81°C steady.

^^Agreed..

If you want to lower it by 10-15deg or so, add a half bottle of Water Wetter directly in the radiator.
(Adding a full bottle will rob you of Winter Heat)
