All the detailed pics are cool. I know nothing about boosting a SR20 but I'm sure most of you turbo guys are laughing right now and eager to see how this ends up. I know for sure that the SPEC clutch was a bad idea and just wait until they get to the tuning part of it. I just think they need to do their homework. I mean, your telling me that those guys never read an article by Mike Kojima or Dave Coleman in SCC?

The other thing, they said it was a RR motor with S3R's. I didn't investigate it too much but the valve cover was definitely not a RR, it was a highport valve cover. I didn't think a highport/lowport vc fit on the RR head

Here's two more:

Buy a $600 intercooler and then cheap out with a $90 eBay S13 downpipe that they had to chop and weld.

Run a Spec stage 3 unsprung 3 puck clutch. Worst company besides JGY for SR20 clutches. Its still on the T25. Way overkill. That's a good way to pop your tranny.

my thoughts exactly, its a good mag. but they arent very nissan orientated and to think they did buy a nice track car they could have done a better job on upgrades

Did they say that? It was a regular 1994 lowport afaik. That's why their brake booster hose didn't reach the manifold on the DET. Another thing they failed to note.

Look I like the coverage, and I realize (especially after selling my B14) most people don't know SRs like I do (which is scary because I'm no expert). However, every step has a little ignorance and a little mis-information.

They don't

Now RR ones will fit High Ports/lowports, but not vise vera.

^+1 there - besides what's online, a LOT of good info from Mike and DC. Starting with SE-R net articles.

Keep some of their articles for my car scanned and online in two places:

Project SE-R Menu

Gallery Pics - August 2006 SCC

Battle of the Project Cars

Suspension - great article

Nov 2000 Misc Stuff

Btw that project car tuner article is whacked, IMHO.

I have the mag, its not bad. But i dont think they know alot about B chassis cars.

They bought a $600 intercooler then a ebay rwd downpipe, that they had to cut and re-weld. They said "we know there are smaller companies that make downpipes for this swap but we didnt feel like hunting one down" I think for the most part they did a good job. But they need to research more.

a 600 buck intercooler is over kill for a t25, i'm using a 90 dollar one from ebay and never had an issue. Also a 3puck unsprung clutch? gimme a break.

I did like the intercooler behind the grill idea for a track use only.

Yeah, I think the intercooler was pretty trick for a track slut.

Interesting, the reason for a taller VC is to clear the cams because roller rockers made them sit higher.

So you might be cutting real close there...
