I think that valve is a 98-99 thing. Neither my GA or SR had it and both were 95.

Yep that is the case. Earlier models had the vapor canister (charcoal canister) inside the engine bay too.

I think you just like the smell of fuel a little too much.

Alright an updated.

I fueled up today, and got 18 MPG . I was easy on the car too!

Now I did reconnect the PCV valve, so maybe the ECU wasn't used to all the extra air, so I will reset the ecu.

But I glued together the valve, and it seems to be holding up fine now :-).

On an interesting note, there is a hose that goes from the gas tank to the Vacuum Cut Valve, well it had gas in it. The gas gets the valve wet, thus making that whistle like sound.

The valve then runs to the hose that connects to the gas tank and the Vapor Canister (the black box). From the black box there is a hose that runs to the Intake Manifold, to the ugly hoses that are up top. I blew through the hose and was able to get air to the intake manifold hose. So that seems to be good.

I did notice that my butterfly is leaking some air when there is pressure blown into the Intake Mani. Is this supposed to be like that?

That is normal. There is always a very small gap there.

OK good.

I will fuel up today and see if my original valve is working better or not.

But either way, I don't think the gas should be in the hose going to the valve, it would explain why I would loose gas then...

Were you seeing worse MPG's if you let the car sit?
I am noticing that if i do not drive the car for a couple days my mileage is worse. When i went to fill up today there was no pressure when i took the cap off.

If my car would sit for more then couple hours it would greatly lower my MPG's.

I was able to get 38 MPG on the highway, but that was a 70 mile stretch of non stop driving.

So thats what my car is cable off under conditions where I never have to let the car sit LOL

Big Update
So I fixed up the original Valve and put it back on, apparently there is a difference between the 2000 P11 and 99 SE-L one.

Well anyway I did 61 miles, 31 city, 30 semi highway (back roads at 60 MPH).

Redlined the car about 9 times and idled quite a bit (drive through etc.)

Went to fuel up, fueled up 1.95 gallons, the pump fueled up a bit more then it would usually, as in gas was almost squirting out when the pump punched out.

Anyway to the number... that got me 31 MPG mixed driving!

If this keeps up I will really be happy
