B14 Water Leak Fix
I was having water flood the passenger side foot well since i got the car. It was not coming in really fast but it would add up after a long rain. I dont have any carpet so it is easy for me to see when it was coming in. It rained all day today and i had a decent size puddle on the floor after work.

I noticed that water was dripping from the AC exchanger box. Since i do not have AC it was easy to remove. I saw that there was water also dripping from the resistor pack in the blower motor housing and that water was inside the fan / turbine it self. So i removed that as well. Then i noticed that there were two plastic tabs sticking down from the top of the fresh air intake. This intake is directly under the passenger side wiper closer to the outside of the car.
This is what it looks like if you are looking from under the dash.

This is what it looks like from the top.

This is the opening from inside the cowl. You can see there is a lip so water can not just run in.

I popped them out, cleaned the area with denatured alcohol, then used some clear silicone caulk to put around each clip.

I popped them back in and let the excess ooze out to guarantee a good seal.

I will let it cure for about 24 hours before putting things back together and check for leaks. I am pretty sure that this was the source of the water. And i would bet that this could cause blower motor failures or the resistor to prematurely fail. And once i get carpet back in it will not get wet.

if my B14 ever starts getting wet over there, i'll be sure to put this on my "short list".
