sqd, how much for said harness?

Squirlz, let me make sure I'm getting this right. You're basically saying that you undo the whole harness, follow every lead back to the connector, depin the big ECU connector and then re-loom it?

I'm all for taking out the un-used wires like Squirlz said.

My brother did this to his 240. Took out a SLEW of wiring. Check out the harness that runs to the rear of the car now. Normally its bundled up in about an 1" thick wire loom.

Heres what got removed (theres actually more than this now)

Im with you on this, thats kinda how mine is besides the reverse light wiring, wire is weight, not much but there, and can be ugly in the engine bay IMO

The main problem with this whole thing is that I don't really know what a lot of the connectors and relays under the hood do, so I'm really not tempted to tear into them. I just want to have less to mess with, so I'll probably leave the connectors on there and hide them as best I can. I'm really not going to try for a tuck or anything, just tidiness without flapping spare connectors. If someone like squirlz really wanted to spend some time talking with me, I might try, but otherwise I don't trust my skill at reading a wiring schematic.

I never did the engine harness, yet. I plan on that this winter along with the rear body harness.
It is not that hard, just a little overwhelming at first. Just take your time and keep track of what is what. Label everything and double check before you cut or remove anything. Go through each connector in the FSM and double check wire color at pin location to make sure it is the right wire.
I want to do a write up at some point with the basics of pulling wires and my basic tips.

I think you should. That would be sweet. I would like to get this one day but it would be nice what needs to be done. I'm a picture by picture kinda guy myself.

Divorce the wiring for the knock sensor so it can be left on the end of the injector harness. Start pulling it apart and you'll see. Trust me you'll thank me.

Try to get the bracket for the frame rail harness behind the battery from an e-model. It is lots more compact. You can pull all the wiring off the driver side strut sower and hide it nicely.

why's that Benito? I am actually trying to decide right now if I'm going to keep the KS or not, as my realtime ECU will be able to switch it off altogether. I'm just not sure how much I need the safety net.

It just makes it easier to hang neatly and work with. Nissan engineers cut about 4 cents off of each model with that goofy wiring architecture. I'd keep the knock sensor. Make a knock map in RT that isn't as conservative as the factory.
