Good point, so then running an open breather might not be as bad on A/F ratios as I thought it would be. I'm going to invest in a wideband to play around to see what would affect the ratios etc.

Try this... Put your finger over the breather hole and give it a sec. You can feel the vacuum after just a sec. It isn't really strong, but the vacuum is enough to pull extra unmetered air into the valve cover. At idle if you have a wideband you should be able to see the car lean out as well.

It's nothing serious.

I've been thinking of a way to reroute the oil catch can so that I could enjoy the benefits of the turbo sucking the air out of the Valve cover to reduce the blow by, while not sucking in any oil and reducing the oily blow suction.

Here is what I have in mind, it's a basic idea of the catch can for our cars hehe . Oh I must mention that I cannot easily use the stock catch can because the DET's to block return line is much higher then on the DE, thus I cannot even fit a T in there



So here is what I'm trying out, I bought a clear hose for the intake so that I could see how much blow by goes by, if too much then I will have to consider a good catch can solution, otherwise this simple T might just work.

This setup will work flawlessly Vadim. You could also put an oil catch can in line with the clear hose from the T to the intake. Make sure the catch has a proper baffle system in there, and you can see the benefits of a proper setup.

My question is then is this also for NA systems, since he had a turbo in there, or am I better off with the writeup he posted elsewhere for my NA motor?

I have mine set up like on post #83, the second pic. The reason i went with this is because i am running a blow through set up and i dont want the turbo to be sending oil and or oily vapors through the i/c, and maf. I am also not running the stock oil seperator, i have always run a pcv valve and left the intake manifold side of that alone.

If you are running draw through then you would put the hose after the maf anyway so you dont have to worry about oil getting inside the maf.

I didn't read through the whole thread, but did anyone mention that there is a restrictor inside the hose that comes off the PCV to the intake manifold. It can easily be clogged.

Not sure if i saw that mentioned in there. Didnt know there was a restrictor in there, is it where the 3 way tee is on the highports?
