If the motor was taken out and they switched the intake plenum then there is no way to tell. I have done many a swap for customers where they wanted everything back to stock so I switched the intake manifolds so that everythin was original.
Same thing with lowprts. I can show you a RR JDM motor that I have put on the USDM lowport intake manifold and valve cover where you can not tell what the motor is.
At the end of the day what does it matter if it is JDM or USDM. Most JDM motors are 9.5 to 1 and some are 10 to 1. The diffrence between these two motors are 5 hp. Nothing to be fighting over

I posted it before your first responce. Sidekick is slow. Well idk then I mean it could be changed or a 200k mile motor trying to be sold as something its not. As you know im looking for a car for my brother. I just don't want him getting into anything that's gonna start breaking on him. Guess ill just have to check it out myself.
