best cam gear settings>bc stg2's
im looking around at getting some cam gears for my b13 and i was wondering what the best settings people have found using the brian crower stage2's. keeping in mind these cams are ground for a s13 turbo engine, i should have to put some more overlap in the mix. only problem is i dont have a cam card to see whats up. the car makes 160 wheel now. im doing a calum realtime and the gears to try and squeeze some more out of it. the car is used for drag mostly. and i have the usuall bolt ons; i, 2"h, 2.5"exhaust/cutout, pullys,

thanks

+2 -2 is a good place to start. Then go +2 -4 iirc.

yep. You will rarely see a improvement with 1 degree.

My build is completely different then a turbo sr20. I thought that you want to decrease overlap when you are turbo. I might be wrong though.

u are correct. in most cases overlap is good for high reving n/a motors.

over lap is not good for turbo motors since the air is compressed.

stratton.

STG 2's straight up for Turbo application. They're designed around turbo builds, not N/A. If you were to run them N/A, you would need cam gears to get best results.

STG 3's is another story. You're going to want to use cam gears to fine tune them once you've got everything else where you want it. There's a dyno somewhere where someone actually lost a little power going from STG 2's to STG 3's, without tuning them out on cam gears, IIRC.
