colors are a disaster there's no rhyme or reason for them to be any color. see the O2 sensor grounding thread's later pages for more information on this. IIRC center tab is signal, outer tabs are heater wire, with a 4 wire ground is the grey one. DCScotty, Vadim did most of the work on it. I just pointed out the wire colors were screwy (they are across model years and models. Nissan must have bought a bunch of random wires.) Just read the last few pages of the grounding thread. (although reading all of them is a bit enlightening/entertaining.)

Yep.. The center one is signal..

Enlightening yes, entertaining maybe, but O2 wiring inconsistance, definely!

If you miswire a O2 sensor, will the check engine light go off?

Nope, Yo-bo-say-yo.. Its a hard code..
Clear it from the ECU. Goto AutoZone its free.

OR Remove the Negative battery cable for 30 minutes. That will also clear the code. Come-som-me-dah...

On B14's, aka OBDII, it might take longer then 30 minutes to clear the codes. Leaving overnight usually will do the trick.

I used to go Autozone all the time, but then just bought a CEL code cleaner for $60. They are cheaper on ebay haha.
