ian i snapped two cables about a month ago. right after i got the turbo car off the dyno it snapped, then the n/a daily snapped a few days later. they both snapped at the bracket that attaches to the clutch pedal. the all motor one freyed to the point were there was a few strainds left intact. on the turbo one the lil butt end just totally snapped off clean.

the turbo car got a oem nissan cable wich is working butter smooth. the daily nx got a nappa cable. the nappa cable has about 1500 miles on it if that and right were yours snapped it has begun to frey, 2 or so lil wires have seperated. and its so gritty.

these cars destroy cables for whatever reason. i think it has to do with the quality of the cables.

stratton.

Wierd. Best I can tell, the clutch cable is the OEM one on my car. The one that rolled off the assembly line with. Same clutch as well. Thats 222k btw. I don't know what ya'll are doing to your clutches but they should be lasting a whole lot longer. Are you using a upgraded pressure plate? That probably has alot to do with it I would imagine.

mine just snapped the other day...so i got a brand new 60 dollart cable right from nissan...go to install it and with the adjustment maxed out, i still have free play and not enugh pedel to get it into gear. i had to limp my car home by starting the poor thing in 2nd gear and keeping it there for about 10 miles back to my house...it sucked. so im not sure what ium going to do at the moment

I found out why the clutches "grind" get stiff and make the creeking noise when warmed up. The guys on the sister forum tell us that the clutch actuator arm needs to be replaced. It maye be worn out. Sounds reasonable to me.

try lubing it really really well with the Lucus x/tra heavy duty grease. Remove the clutch actuator arm, clean off any surface rust also clean off the seal where the clutch actuator arm goes trough and then lube it up.

I had the same problem until I lubed it up. Snapped 3 OEM cables, and the spacer thing did not work that well for me.
