Thread: Is there a SR20 rebuilt motor market?

The fact that sone of us have kept these cars 10+ proves we are diehard as BMW and VW guys.

the problem is the parts alone would cost 2k and then theres labor and shipping and warehouse space to store the built motors until someone with money actually wants to purchase.

i don't think you could make money doing it. nearly everytime i have seen someone selling a fully built block their asking price is very reasonable for what they have in it. to sell, they have to go way below the orinignal asking price.

Mine was rebuilt 30k miles ago.....so I guess ill have a lot of ppl jumping on it when I go VE.

I had my engine rebuilt with OEM parts when I first purchased the car. It cost more than twice as much as a JDM engine. At the time, I didnt know about JDM's and thought rebuilding was my only option.

Ive put over 120k miles on the engine since with minor problems & normal sensor replacements. Ive purchased rebuilt engines in the past with okay experiences. I would probably buy an SR20 remag engine.

That is why we are know as "rat racers." We are cheap and do things ourselves. The people that can afford an engine like that would probably have a more expensive car anyways....Not many rich folk have Nissans.
