Thread: Ebay Headers

Im about to purchase some headers for my 200sx se-r and my friends classic.. we saw this ones at ebay.. but im not sure about the quality of them.. does anybody know or have experience with this?.. there are two types..
this ceramic header.. this is actually a bid but it also have a "buy it now" option..about $70 dlls + shipping

and this other one.. non ceramic but kinda same design.. they actually look the same than a SSAC header.. but im not completely sure..this one is around $80 + plus shipping

I believe I heard that they are almost the same quality... not sure though...

***First one looks like a SSAutochrome, 2" secondary, ceramic coated (maybe it was used and they coated it? or not, cause flex looks new). Good Price.

***Second one pictured is SSautochrome 2" secondary, stainless. Good Price too.

Uhhh, but enter the title of the auction in search and tons of those headers pop out, in black, ceramic and stainless with lower prices even.

Some state "large collector", so I wonder if some are really 2.5"

Nothing is guaranteed not to rust, just because it's "stainless steel". It could very well be mild steel, with a stainless coating. You're not looking at just the steel, when you buy parts for your car, though. You need to consider the quality of the welds, etc.

I've seen many eBay turbo manifolds that crack at the welds, due to poor quality control. As far as N/A headers, most aren't as susceptible to extreme stress. SSAC tends to be one of the best eBay headers out there, for the SR20, that's mass produced, and readily available.

My suggestion would be to have the seller take pictures with a ruler, or measuring tape, to clarify the diameter of the piping.
