When you painted your engine bay, did u use spray cans? If so, how many cans of primer and paint did you need?

TIA

I wouldn't mind knowing too, I'm going to Soda blast it first and then paint it.

I used...

(2) Self etching primer
(4) Low Gloss Engine Paint

It's a good budget way of doing things, and I recall I had some black left. Just understand that it's not as durable as the real thing. Mine has held up well though.

I used about the same on my S13. Two coats of gray primer, 5-6 light coats of low gloss black, both in Duplicolor's 500 degree engine paint.

I had the engine out (obviously), fenders and bumper off. I draped a drop cloth over the windshield, doors, mirrors, etc. I pressure washed the engine bay, degreased it with Simple Green and a toothbrush (no, I'm not kidding), then hit the whole thing with a wire wheel and fine-grit sandpaper. I wasn't going for a show finish, just something more attractive than the nasty stock champagne color.

It's held up decently well for a few years, and it's easy to touch up
