Thread: "93-94" 1.6L 5speed to 2.0L 5speed "Questions"

I found a car that I am thinking about taking a look at for my next project. I have tons of parts, but NO project car to put them on. I'll give you the run down of my screen name and my past/present/future plans. in the SRworld

1.) Joined the old fourm in July of "05" looking to turn my 4door 1.6L auto into a 4door 2.0L auto After searching, reading, and asking tons of dumb questions. I came to realize that auto was a big NO GO in this community for the most part.

2.) Round 2 - 1.6L 4door motor developed a blown head gasket I believe and could not drive it anymore. Found a ok deal on a 93 SE-R on autotrader.

3.) Round 3 - Blew the motor in the 93 SE-R. NO biggie, I planned on getting a JDM anyway. Long story short, got it back on the road and it has been running pretty good since. The daily is currently getting a Re-Up and should turn out pretty good.

4.) I want to go with a different look from the normal 2door and live up to my screen name. I need a SRpowered 4door, but I have a few questions.

^This is what I'm in the buisness of doing for my next project. The auto conversion is out the window. I'm doing 1.6L 5speed to 2.0L 5speed.

1.) 91-92 4door 5speed

2.) 93 4door 5speed

3.) 94 4door 5speed

^Supposedly all of these are different when you cross over to the SE-R.

i got no clue on the year differences but i would assume the engine harnesses would be the same unless you got a lowport motor some sensors are different

i did a 91 se-r 5-speed into a 92 4-door auto

i've been tinkering with the 4 door b13 w/ SR20 idea for a while. im subscribed. lol i was just thinking today that ur screen name didnt match ur car, 4-door.

^I think that I will have to get the 93 or 94 harness for the speedo to work properly. I just want everything inside the car to light up and work after the swap. That is my main reason for making this thread. I'm going to be using a JDM highport that I will be boosting as my motor.

oh thats right they have the electronic speed sensor don't they?

i have the cable, heck even the ga cable worked for me lol

^Yes the 93-94 has the electronic speed sensor and the 91-92 has the cable. I need to figure out what other problems the 91-92 harness would cause on the inside of the car besides that. Not really worried about the engine side of it things.

if i remember corectly taiden on the old forum had a white 4 door VE.he'd be a good person to ask about it.

i have a 4 door xe 94 i have an sr20 in it right now it was automatic now it is 5 speed all work was done by me it is worth it very fun car and very unexpected by others.
