Thread: Fidanza Flywheels

Not much for me to chime in with, all I've ever sold is the 143201, and I use the same one myself, but on a B13.

I thought this was common knowledge. From what I remember, the 109 tooth wheel is the correct part for the B14 as the number of teeth prevent the check engine light from coming on (crank angle sensor causes the problem I believe). Also, there was something about non Ferris metals being used for the teeth which would also cause this problem. The B13 will take just about any flywheel you throw at it I believe. The 108 is typical though.

Be warned: this could all be horribly wrong info. I've never studied up on it because I have a B13.

Yah, I knew you were asking about the difference between the two flywheels you have. I was trying to clear up the discrepancy between this:

They seem to completely contradict each other. =/


As for your flywheels, just seems like a redesign of the center section. You must have a newer and an older one. That would be my guess anyway.

^bold red - That's what I was thinking. I was just trying to see if anybody else noticed this. Didn't know if it was a 109 vs 108 thing, or just a new vs old design period. Thanks for your input

Now it makes sense why the 143201 = 109 tooth one is more commonly available, it works for both B13's and B14's while the other one just works on B13's.

IIRC 143201 also works on the B15.

That should be the other way around I'm pretty sure, 143621=109 teeth, 143201=108 teeth. The obdII cars with the CPS need 109 teeth, obdI cars can use either one.

Failsafe flywheel to go with if your not sure which one you need.

Part: 143201 NIS 11
Teeth: 109
Ring: Generic Ring
Car: OBDI - No Crank Sensor

Wtf... That's just throwing me for a loop. I always thought the new design was the 109 tooth wheel. Oh well. It seems to mesh with what Serban was saying all along. *shrug*
