Thread: quick engine harness question

Can the main harness from the ecu to all the sensors be replaced without taking out the motor?

I would have searched but that function is all screwy right now.

Yes, the harness can be replaced without taking out the motor. I've removed and re-installed one a few times, all with the engine in the car. It might be a bit difficult to get all of the tie-downs sorted out, but it should be possible.

Thanks Ben. I figured it could, just wanted to confirm. Most of the tie downs are either broken or missing due to the many motor in and out situations. My main concern is the battery starter wire with the axles, exhaust, and cross member in the way. I assume those are more intertwined into the harness than I'd like to try to separate. I'll guess I'll find out this weekend.

Yeah you can remove the harness with the powertrain in the car. I like to label the harness and take pictures before disconnecting it. This way I can put it back to how it was.
