JDM RR issues (please help)
Backstory, I missed a shift in my almost 200k stock ser and broke 4 rockers. I then broke the intake cam trying to get it all back together. I got a new cam from the yard, but I could never quite get the timing right. I think it slipped a tooth during the swap process, but I eventually got it running. I figured I might as well swap in a JDM motor as they are getting harder to come by. The motor I got wasn't what I ordered, but it was the only thing I could find around me.
I received a JDM RR... After much reading I determined this motor could work if I swapped the entire intake mani, heater tubes, etc. I also had to swap the distributor as the plug was different and I didn't feel like trying to figure out how to re-wire the RR plug to my harness. I made sure to hook up all the vacuum lines per the diagram under the hood, and all the plugs and connectors are plugged in as they should be. The only code I'm throwing is a crank position, but that's because I put in a light weight flywheel with an upgraded clutch during the swap. (I've read on the forums that anything but the stock flywheel will throw this code) I'm eventually going to swap back to the stock flywheel after I get it machined and I feel like dropping the tranny again.
Motor starts and runs good, but I get a little hesitation off the start and it basically stops making power after around 4k under load. If I creep on the gas it makes power just fine and will pull like it wants to make decent power for a stockish motor (intake, headers, and a full 2.5" stainless exhaust). It kind of feels like it's either running out of fuel or timing. I currently have the timing set around 10-12*. I tried 15 like it should and it just made the problem worse. If I don't creep up the rpms and instead say floor it, the car makes now power and can barely get out of it's own way. I tested the MAF and it's at 1.5v on the nose at idle, so I don't think that's the issue.
The only other thing I can think of is I might need to reset the TPS. I never changed or moved it at all from the location it was in on my other known good running motor that I took all those goodies off of.
