Good looking car! Wish you luck on that auction…..hope it goes up to at least 3-4x the current bid before it closes. If not, i am very tempted to bid and have it as a sister car to mine.

Just came to post it. Wife's attestment of facts was fun to read; guy religiously wiped the car down with flannel pajamas, and no one was allowed to get close to it for fear of scratching.

Stunning. Love it. Cannot get much cleaner than this without a time machine.

This one belongs in a museum, period. Subjecting it to the road would be criminal.

Wow. I can’t even put it into words. The wife’s statement was just poetry.

Normally, I would advocate that letting a car sit like this is a crime. But this is a situation where it was in the best interest of its original owner to preserve something like this because of the spirit of the car. I honestly hope Nissan USA gets involved in the auction and puts the winning bid in. It belongs in Nissan’s Heritage Museum in my opinion. I can’t think of a better fit. I hate to rob someone else’s dream of reliving their youth, but I don’t see the point in driving this particular example. Don’t think of it as an investment, because there are plenty of other cars that are better investments. Think of it as a memorial of a time in Nissans history, arguably its pinnacle decade. The B13 SE-R was the best FWD car Nissan USA ever made. Why wouldn’t they purchase this?

Great story. My appreciation for the SE-R aside, I too collect hi-fi equipment and record albums, and I've been called a "brain surgeon" on many occasions.

Through Lane Motor Museum, I was able to get in touch with the Nissan rep to let them know about this auction. His email response to me was “Oh, we are aware of it for sure and watching closely”

However, vibe that I got from his email was that at the current bid, they are already just about at their limit of how much they would bid. But he acknowledged that a B13 SE-R is a car that could “fill the gaps” in their collection.

I hope they pony up. They won’t get another chance like this.
