Exhaust Manifold
hello I know I don't have a sr20de but I need help I own a 93 Sentra with the ga16de. I'm having an issues where the car cant get over 85 mph and when I push it to that speed for a long period of time like on an interstate or running on a track the exhaust manifold where the o2 sensor sits and and about half of my manifold pipes and my downpipe gets CHERRY RED HOT. everyone is like "oh your cats clogged" well that'd be a great fix except I don't have one the exhaust is straight piped except I do have a muffler. timing is perfectly spot on. fuel pressure was a little weak so I changed the regulator and no change. I'm afraid that if the manifold continues to get red hot like this it will do some serious damage to my block. temp gauge never moves from normal operating temp so if anyone has any idea what to do or what to check for next that'd help a crap ton

car has 130k miles and is all stock expect for a CAI and the straight piped like I mentioned

Sounds like your engine is leaning out the fuel mixture too much, causing high exhaust gas temperatures and a loss of power.

Possible causes on the top of my head,
-Clogged fuel filter
-Contaminated fuel system
-Dyeing fuel pump
-Faulty injectors (easy to check resistance with multimeter, see so all are the same resistance)
-O2 sensor misreporting mixture (only affects steady state, not wide open throttle, so probably not faulty here)

Maybe start with those? And google around leaning out symptoms and troubleshooting. Start with the easy ones

Was not aware the GA16DE could push a car past 55, let alone 85.

Ever have one? They run well, return great mileage and have decent power.

checked resistance with multi meter and couldn't get a solid enough connection c1 was 6.7 c2 was 14.8 c3 was 12.6 and c4 was 18.7 don't think these are the right readings

Get injector readings you can trust? Those do seem suspect...

checked them with my buddys multi all 4 cylinders were 33.7 ohm (note these were while the rail was still in the car so idk if im getting a bad reading or what?)

On the SR20DE, the injectors should be close to 11.0 ohm

I can't find the number for GA16DE, but when searching google someone posted a failed 1.6 injector that was reading 39 ohm.

Maybe try searching around for more numbers, but if 11 ohm is also the spec for the GA16 injectors, then your injectors are shot for sure.

94 FSM lists 'Approximately 10 Ohms' for GA16DE fuel injectors.
For SR20DE it lists 10-14 Ohms.

If yours read 33 ohms, that explains the lean condition.
I had all 4 of my '93 SR20DE injectors fail between 208,500 and 209,500 miles.
