Thread: Want to remove the tray piece under the ash tray in NX

Posting this question because the search function doesnt work....
I want to remove the little square plastic tray thingy thats just under the ash tray and lighter on my NX. How do i get it out?

Put the cars shifter in reverse
Remove the shift boot frame,rotate sideways to have room to work
Pull the tray straight back towards the shifter until it unsnaps.You may have to tug on it pretty good to unsnap.Just pull straight back not up or downward.The tray rides in a sort of groove in the console so you may have to wiggle it side to side a tiny bit as you pull

reverse the directions to reinstall

Thanks, I appreciate it One thing.... it look like the tray has clips that point downward, like the tray would need to be pulled upwards (the front of the tray toward the frontof the car). If i pull straight back do i run the risk of breaking the clips?

Nevermind... i figured it out. Was looking at it backwards Thanks again
