Thread: Tires

I would like to upgrade the tires on my 1992 Nissan S13 SR20DE. So far I have checked out Toyo Tires' Proxes 4 Plus. Should I go for it?

What are your performance goals, your budget, the sizes you're looking for?

I have no actual experience using those Toyos but have heard decent reviews. I just replaced my nitto Direzza 101s with their Neo Gens and am pleased so far with normal spirited daily driving.

What size wheel are you using? And what do you want to do?

I will be in need of new tires this year. I might switch back to the P11 wheels if I can find good tires. So either 16x7s with a 205-50-16, or 15x6 with a 205-55-15. I am looking for a more aggressive summer tire for spirited driving, will need to be decent in rain just in case. Not worried about tread wear as I do not drive that many miles, but I need more traction than the Kumo Ecstas are providing now. Any suggestions?

The new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are my new favorite tire. Too bad you need at least a 17inch wheel to make them happen.
