For pop charger you will need a MAF adapter.

As for the CAM's the intake will be better then stock, but it will still choke the cams. Basically there are better CAI's that will make a CAMed car work better.

Old forum, that question would pop up every now and then. I don't know which intake does what, which one is better for No Cams, and yes cams etc. But I just remember people mentioning some intakes would choke the Camed motors.

Very good point, but I thought AEM is not going to make them anymore...

No intake is going to "choke" the motor, especially compared to the stock airbox. None of them are restrictive, rather, the choice is whether you want to run an adjustable FPR to get the extra few HP a full 3" CAI will provide.

The Hotshot 3" CAI is the best performing intake for an N/A SR20, cammed or not. But it takes in so much air due to resonance that it requires an adjustable FPR in order to prevent the A/F ratio from leaning out. I'd imagine that running a Hotshot CAI with an FPR and a BPi Flow Stack could get you as much as 15 hp over stock on a cammed motor with headers and exhaust.

The other intakes vary in performance by a couple of HP, but they are not that different.

^I had to get one. I may not even use it. I'll mount it on my wall if I don't.

^I heard this as well. Just like the extinct UR 4 piece pulley set. The guy that I bought my 4 piece from said it was the last set in the nation that was up for grabs. It came of a display that was 2 or 3 years old. I have two 4 piecey pulley sets now. I have almost two of everything except a CF hood/trunk.

Interesting, good read, it probably was that

While ishkabibble's tech may or may not be totally accurate (not my point), the benefit is that this intake should outperform the OEM accordion. The other more important point is that Hotshot and Place Racing are out of business, and it is apparent that AEM will not produce these again (without a significant buy in). So that leaves Injen - which I know nothing about.

Whether or not you get 1 more hp from the Hotshot is like not hitting on the pretty girl at the bar because a prettier girl may walk in. Buy the last AEM or watch the classifieds like a hawk.....
