Manual e rack
Who here is running an E rack,
I have a new one in my track car and I hate it.
It feels really vague and almost unsafe

I think I am gonna loop a power rack

Any thoughts??

I have been using an E rack on my DD for past few years. No track use. Feels pretty good to me. Did you make sure your tie rods are in good shape??

The problem with the E rack on the track is too much turning effort ends up making it feel vague. I hated it so much I went back to the power rack in a hurry after just 1 track weekend of testing when 1st building the car although we did not loop the power rack, we simply added a steering rack cooler and use royal purple synthetic power steering fluid. Its been working that way for us for years without issue even on 90 degree days with 2 hours back to back driving.

Chris that's the same way I feel...
It almost feels dangerous on the track.
That's the worst mod I have ever been told to do.
Even on the interstate when driving to fast it feels bery vague.

Stupidest mod I have ever done to a car!!!

I feel better. I'll order a ps rack and sell this new one

I'll add to the majority opinion - the non-PS rack is a bad idea. I'm in the process of R&R with a de-powered se-r rack. (I'm following this write-up from MotoIQ.com - LINK.)

I used that link to depower my buddy's steering rack on his Z32 track car. After doing a few track days and autocross events we decided it wasn't as bad as most people make out it to be. So I then used the same link to depower the rack in my 86 300ZX Turbo and I like it. Parking maneuvers can be a bit of a hassle when running tires sizes like me. I run 265/35R18 tires on 18x9.5 +12mm offset wheels. My buddy runs 265/35R18 Toyo slicks and ain't too bad either.

I don't see the parking maneuvers to be as bad on a B13 with 205-215 width tires. Once moving the steering feel is marginally heavier on the effort.
When converting a power rack to depower rack you will feel everything since there is no fluid buffering the kickback. To me it makes it easier to tell what the front tires are doing while cornering.

^ we often used 225 45 15 hoosier tires on front of our sentra last year (hoosier's are wider than normal 225s and more like 245 everything else) so I wouldn't want to deal with that depowered myself.... plus I have wussy girl arms with no upper body strength like boys have.

On the positive side, I sold my manual rack for $150 so there is that

I guess I will depower a power rack,
The e rack is the worst mod ever!
Anyone have any info on looping the lines
