My $6 spoiler support project

So I made these yesterday after seeing how much decent stanchions cost. All pieces were purchased at Tractor Supply Co.

I tapped and drilled into the main bumper structure at an angle and installed eye hooks designed to go into wood. Used a bit about 3/4 the size of the hook body.

I believe the turnbuckle was the second smallest one they sell. It is adjustable on both ends.

This last pic shows the bottom of the threaded "U"-hook that I used. I drilled through the outer surface and the lower surface, then slid the hook through the upper hole, threw a nut on it, then slid the hook through the lower hole and ran a large fender washer, lock washer, and another nut, this way when it's tightened, it doesn't pull the spoiler upward. I also closed the "U"-hook quite a bit so the turnbuckle doesn't fall out. Once everything was tight, I simply turned the turnbuckle body until the cracks in the spoiler closed up!
Hopefully my write up makes sense.

Did you get stainless steel?

Nah. I believe the bodies are aluminum and the hooks steel. I don't drive the car in the rain or snow so not too concerned.
