When you mean maintenance. What excatly do you mean?

I will admit I haven't checked the sparkplugs since they were put in, 30k miles ago......

Maybe a good time to do the cap and distributor too

30K miles usually isn't enough time for a sparkplug to get so bad it drops a cylinder unless youve been running rich as ****.

It depends on which plugs. That sounds like too much if they are coppers.

Well after looking at the plugs they needed to be changed.......Put four new ones back in there and conclusion............Injector 3 is bad.....

Did you check compression? Do it to make sure you're not wasting cash on a new injector!

Well here is the thing. Even if compression is bad wouldn't the tone of the engine change when I disconnect a injector? When I disconnect the injector it keeps running like if was still connected.

Not necessarily... low compression can cause it to not fire at all in which case you would be unable to hear any difference.

But would the compression in one cyilinder just drop like that? From just starting the motor.

The only times my car has sounded like a WRX was when it wasn't getting enough fuel.

Once it was because a fuel line came loose inside the fuel tank. The other time, I don't remember.
