OK I'm Stumped
Well hello gang long time no post! This car has been a champ with no issues over the last 4 years, but ya I'm here so guess what I have an issue . Gonna toss this out to you all to see what you think so bear with me. When the wheel is cranked all the way to the right and I give it gas I get a clunk and then all is fine. So i been living with this for a bit now and tried to fix it but since it does not happen every time I didn't mind. I sounded like a OCD fool asking my guy to fix it back then but he found nothing. Well fast forward to the present now When I turn right I'm on the gas "sometimes" the whole drivers side goes "CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK" . So being the proactive dummie I am i ordered new CV axels then droped more money with greg on seals. Then o ya I get my fluid and that's another 60$ in Redline MT 90. Well instead of coming here for advice I now have lots of extra parts to go with the car when I sell it lol. So with my dumb story out of the way do I need to replace the ball joint/control arm now? It does not make that sound all the time, but it seems when I get on it and front load the suspension it likes to clunk away turning right while giving it gas. Thanks for reading

I would check the control arm bushings.

Get up under there w/a large pry bar and see if you can force any movement. A clunk like you're describing should be able reproduce that way, me thinks.

Control arm bushings, ball joint, tie rod ends, and don't forget to check the strut for leaks or worn/damaged strut mount/bearing.

I would put my money on control arm bushings or strut mounts, and possibly ball joints

Ya the strut and mounts where replaced a couple years ago, I'm gonna replace both control arms and see what happens. I tried to pry on the ball joint to see if it moved but it didn't have any play in it.

Did you check sway bar bushings and rack bushings while you were under there?

Jack it up and wiggle wheel. If it wiggles then look for the wiggle. Or get a friend to wiggle it while you check rack, control arms and anything else.

Is it just the spring shifting in the perch? Are the springs preloaded or loose at full droop?
