Thread: Rough Start and temp guage slow to rise and dips at idle.

I am about thru with this car this year. I checked the MAF wiring and rewired it. Maybe bad gas, Seafoaed it. Changed fuel filter. Nada. Last week, jiggled the coolant temp sensor wiring, reproduced the symptom, but unable to do it again. What happens is the engine temps take forever to raise even in this heat. And now it is dropping at idle and the idle gets lopey. Any ideas where tow check next?

I am on my cell so I can't edit, sorry. I got some info from the forum and felt I had to add this.

I cleaned the T/B, and the MAF was regrounded years ago. I am wondering if ShawnB had it right with the ECT. Gotta check the fuse, EGR and the sensor/wiring next. Seriously thinking it is the ECT.
