@Storm88000 Harry's Hazleton is showing a '96 and '97 Sentra, VIN's decoded says they're both manual trans.

They're also showing a '98 Sentra SE, auto though.

Now here is the question: is the B14 1.6 liter crossmembers the same? ANyone know? I ask because rarely do Toddy and I come across B14 2.0 liters. It's almost always 1.6s. And also, are the 2 and 4 door cross members the same length?

Courtesy Nissan is showing the B14 manual trans 1.6 and 2.0 as having the same cross member. The automatic 1.6 & 2.0 is a different part number. Both the Sentra and 200SX use the same cross members.

yes, the crossmembers are the same for 1.6 and 2.0. AT and MT TRANS makes the difference.

I have never seen shit like that happen before. On the plus side, you should hopefully be able to find one at your local salvage yard, probably already on the ground under the car when you get there.

I suspect that the crossmember was already fatigued. That's a tough spot to break but at least it's an easy fix.

Unbolt entire crossmember, swap over rear mount to new one, bolt mount to engine/transmission in the rear first, use a jack and raise up the rear to get those bolts in for the rear xmember first, then do the front. 30min tops. May be a good opportounity to get those aluminum and delrin bushings in at the same time.

Summary of todays events. I have sunburn and am full of dirt. Laying on the dirty ground, removing a broken cross member from one B14, and then removing a good one from another B14, then attempting to swap them, is a long job by yourself with just jack stands and ramps. My back is killing me. I was out there by myself for FOUR HOURS. The biggest pain is jacking up the motor enough (at the oil pan but use a wooden block) to get the rear trans mount bolt out. It's pain in the pass.

Anyways here's some pics of all of today's shenanigans. First, all my cars. The 98 SE-R (black that my friend "helped" break yesterday when he drove it) and the 97 SE-R (teal, mostly donor car) and you can see the new Juke in the background:

The broken cross member removed from the car (missing top piece

Me holding the piece of the top:

The Place Racing rear trans mount doing just fine (I will simply be bolting this up to the donor cross member):

The ORIGINAL (209,000 mile) rear trans mount from the '97 SE-R. Wow:

Here is the donor cross member from other 97 SE-R, it's functional but I'm going to throw a coat of black rust proofing paint on for added insurance:

And there we go. Tomorrow I get to install the 97 donor car piece. While there's still some light-out, I've had enough for the day

Maybe it's just the way the pics look on a mobile phone, but the bolt holes on your donor crossmember look a lot farther apart than the broken one you just removed. Hope that's not the case.

Buy some crossmember bushings from unisa jecs while your at it. The rubber stock ones in the crossmember are probably worn out. These are aluminium and delrin, certainly help with rigidity! A little spendy but worth it.
