Thread: Is this flywheel f***ed?

I am currently testing out some 6-speed parts, and to speed up testing, I planned to use the P12 dual mass flywheel I got with the gearbox.

Take a look at the video. I can move the inner part with one hand, and if I really twist it hard, I can make it almost bottom out. This shouldn't happen right?

Bonus question; Anyone tried to weld a DMF solid?

As long as it springs back to the middle its ok. They are designed to move like that to keep torque fluctuations to a minimum to prevent transmission chatter when idling. VQ35/37 rwd make lots of transmission noise when converting from DMF to SMF for that reason.

Only downsides are they are not able to be resurfaced and really heavy.
