Thread: Driver headlight issue

Hey guys I tried searching but all the problems were just simple I think mine is more different.

But about a week ago we had severe heavy rain storms back to back. The following night of the last storm I noticed my headlight was on but the high beam light was indicated that my high beams were on, in which they weren't. 2 seconds later it was off. The following night I turn my lights on & my driver headlight was out, figured it got burned out from the water I replaced the bulb & nothing. My high beam light is still on. Should I replace the fuse or is this wire the culprit ?

Yeah, you shouldn't have loose wires. A bad connection will either be intermittent, or not supply enough juice to light the bulb, a poor connection to the headlights will also get hot much more quickly, burn the insulation, cause worse problems.

Go to the junkyard or your local auto parts store and get a replacement connector, that one has had it.

Strip the wires back, and give them a good solid braid. Usually what I do is divide the wire bundle in two, braid half of one to half of the other, then braid those two together. This tends to hold pretty well. Then use a good quality of electrical tape to seal it up.

You can also use a butt connector, but if you don't crimp those right the wires can come loose later.

Great I'll try & tackle it this weekend. By any chance is there a headlight wire diagram? I barely wire anything & would hate to practice on this & mess it up even more
