Knock sensor code (34) on a sr20ve
I have a 93 b13 that i got was not running the person that had the car before did not know what they were doing so i got the harness straightened out and got the car running on a stock de ecu. The first initail start up was a smooth normal warm up idle then went down regularly after about 2 more start ups the engine started to idle irractly from 1.5k-2k now i know normally the aacv usually does this. So i plugged my nemu ecu in and the check engine comes on with knock sensor code 34 i had run a wire from ecu to knock sensor cause the wire from the harness didnt look so good but the light continues to stay on and the idle is still irratic i have a video i took that might help explain some things if anyone can give me some feed back already tried a diff knock sensor no diff i also tried free hanging it no diff any feed back is appeciated

Ok, so here is what you can do to verify that it's actually the knock sensor that is causing your erratic idle.

Go to the "Ignition Trims" tab
Knock, Knock params,
UNTICK "Enable Knock Sensor" and "Enable Knock Analysis"

Did that fix the problem?

If not: You have something else causing your erratic idle.
If yes: Double check the wiring, if good, replace knock sensor. Even though it's a VE, the knock sensors are getting old and brittle. If it's cracked, oxidation can occur inside the sensor. Ebay has generic Nissan knock sensors for 5$, OEM sensors cost 10x that. Ebay works just fine, piezoelectric knock detection is old-school, and not very advanced.

a while since i had to replace mine, which actually was a faulty new one, but i think from memory it should be zero (off position) and 2.5v (on position). with the loom wire off, measure the resistance (550ish K ohm). the fact that its only 0.07/0.08v at that idle rpm (to me) indicates that the idle issue is not the knock sensor, but like dala said, you can disable it to check any difference.

i would not buy a cheap knock-off ebay sensor. pay the money and buy a genuine one, their cheap enough if you look.

Ok i have already tried disabling the knock senor and analys and all it did was give me more running issues as to back firing very poor throttle with hesistation popping out the i take and then nemu will throw other codes like crank angle sensor although after rewiring the knock sensor when i enable and disable knock sensor the light would go off but still had same symptoms as to before the rewire the light would remain nomatter what but ok thanks guys for the response im going to try see if a different maf will do it
