jumping starter solenoid with wire?
ok, well my girlfriends starter has ben going out for some time, hitting it with a wrench worked for a while, and sometimes it wasnt needed at all. the other day it went out completely.
i took the car to pep boys to have it repaired, it was 260 thats the part, installation and towing for the car, not that bad really, i didnt do the replacing of the starter myself as the car is a ga16 and its a pain in the ass to replace on them.
well they first replaced the start WITH A BAD STARTER! at their location, ok thats sign # 1..... then they replaced their bad starter with a good starter, i get a ride go up there and pay for the car, start the car and it starts GREAT, but i notice my radio wouldnt come on, and the windshielf wipers would periodicly not work, ok weird.
yesterday i pick my girlfriend up at her job no problem, she gets in starts the car and the starter WOULDNT shut off, i pop the hood and was like WTF so i try to pull the positive from the battery but it was really tight and no tools on hand before i could get the pos off, the starter was smoking and smelled bad.
i get the car RETOWED back to pep boys they say dont worry we will take care of it. well needless to say they are saying its a electric problem and that they wont cover it THIS CAR NEVER HAD A SINGLE ELECTRIC PROBLEM AT ALL! and not only that THEY ARE WANTING 70.00 FOR THE TOWING THEIR SAID THEY WOULD COVER! ok **** pep boys
my question is, right now there is a new starter in it, can i run a separate wire from the starter and then turn the iginiton on and tap the wire from the starter tothe positive on the batterty to start the car....i know this is a half ass way to start the car, HOWEVER now that i am down 260 on this ****, i cannot afford to have anyone hunt down a supposed electrical problem
