Thread: Weird stalling problem in G20

Hey guys, I was looking at a 2002 Infinit G20 on Craigslist today. Went to see it and when you start it up cold, the motor immediately stalls once you put it in drive or anything but park (yes it's auto but I was just looking for a beater). This happens every single time, but the motor idles normally as long it's in park. If you let the motor warm up for about 10 minutes, it's fine and won't stall.

No MIL lamp, it's an '02 G20 with 180k miles. Anyone have an idea ?

I say check the tcc if it has one it should since its auto

Sounds like the torque converter is going bad.

^^ yep that's what someone else who came to look at the car said. Guess that's a pass!
