Alright so, I had the car running for abit before I changed the thermostat out for the nismo one I had in the garage. So with the laptop hooked up and going of the data screen I could see the temps rising to where they should be, Car got up to operating temp 180ish degree's F (now the thing is my dummy gauge in the cluster at this point is maxed out, It's past the H) and my fans did kick in at 190ish degree's F settling it back down to the 180ish mark. I'm thinking now the other sensor not the ect but the thermistor (or whatever it's called is bad?) Anyway, thought I'd share and gonna fire it up again tonight when I'm home as the silicone sealant on the thermostat housing shall be dry. Dave

Nice going! Yes, it seems that the other 1 wire one is being a POS. They are cheap, but what I would do is make sure that its not corroded, and there is minimal resistance in the wire. The gauge operates on resistance, and any introduced by the wire will cause the needle to be way off.

I didn't get to run the car last night as I was hoping too after replacing the thermostat the other day. By the time i was home it was pretty late, I did have a look at the themistor sensor and plug and man was she corroded. So I de-pined the plug, cleaned the sensor and the plug with a scotch pad and some brake clean, nice and clean now so hopefully that fixed the temp issue with the cluster if not I'll replace the sensor. Working till 8 again tonight so I'll know tomorrow as I have the day off.
