Thread: still battling cooling issues

The color is like blood because it is probally ATF in the resovior. Our cars call for ATF.

wat? really? thats weird.....but wen i open the resivor it smells like it its buring up...and the pump whines , it drives my nuts

Buy a Koyo radiator. Before you complain about $$$, how much is head gasket? New/swap motor?

I couldn't believe how freakin' tiny the OEM radiator was when I pulled it. What a joke. The KOYO I got from Greg V was TWICE the capacity of coolant from stock.

Also the UR pulley slowing the water pump actually helps, reduces cavitation from too high spin at higher rpms.

Damn that's high - I don't see over 180 deg, when it did get too hot, if it reached those kind of temps it blew right past and was time to shut it down.

I had several issues - 1) Air bubbles 2) Airflow 3) Thermostat was messed up, and 4) OEM radiator was absurd esp with A/C. Also I use Redline Water Wetter, 50/50 mix coolant/water, higher pressure cap, Koyo radiator, I never see any high temps anymore. I only use one fan due to lack of room between the thicker radiator and my header, and don't lose any sleep over it.

I run the car hard on hot (90+) days at relatively low speeds in AutoX and never have issues - despite no shade, idling in line, beating on it hard on the course, and then slowing down right away before airflow can really cool it off like on the track.

$390 through Greg/G Spec (part #R1977).

Best price I found, next best was $425 and there's also more than one place out there pushing fake product.

Worth it to me to just forget about cooling issues, period.

Consider doing a heat wrap on headers? Mine are really close on the B13, too, I've thought about it.

ya i thought about it but for 50$ for 1 inch x 50 ft wrap is alot
