Thread: 4 speed fan control.

Ill get you a quick cell phone pic. Easy peasy, IIRC it's only unplug, then unbolt the resistor(one bolt), then pull resistor out and replace.

My mistake, it was a screw, not a bolt that was holding it on lol. So, unplug, unscrew, replace. That's it. Here is the pic, it's right underneath the glovebox right above the floorboard.

From what I remember, there were zero physical signs that it was defective. I think there were like 4 metal lines about 1/4 inch wide on the resistor, they all looked the same, no damage that I could tell. This was a couple of years ago, so my memory might be a little fuzzy.

How many ohms is the resistor? I got a **** load of resistors for school maybe I can fix mine with one of those.

No fix here... The wiring is buried deep in thick silicon as a single pack build.. Burn-out is not really visible for repair. (ask me how I know! hehe)

The newer model replacement has a smaller silicon pack than the original one as a upgrade replacement. It should last much longer..

hey guys. instead of replaceing them with junkyard parts go to the dealer and buy a new one, they are stronger than the old and only $15

LOL! You know that I tried to bust into it!!

I was already at the junkyard so I grabbed them, I dealt with only using the high setting for two years before I decided to swap it out It has lasted though, it's been close to two years since I put it in, so when it goes I'll get a new one.

Haha I've been using the high setting only for nearly a year now myself lol.
