CEL Autozone scanner for B14.. umm?
Car: '98 SE-R, 5-speed, original DE w/ some bolt-ons, 170k, also B15 trans swap. Before I even bought her, the previous owner did let me know the CEL was on because of a bad O2 sensor at the cat I think. No biggie.
Weird thing is, one day while driving after about 2 months the light simply disappeared and never returned....until I stored the car for this past winter.
Now that I'm driving it again the light is back on, and so are 2 more codes. Mind you I didn't do anything but a new axle and control arm to the car in the meantime. So I decided to see what they'd say at Autozone. Here's what came up:
Code 1: P0130 (expected this one)
Air fuel ratio 1 bank 1 circuit
Probable cause:
a)Open or short circuit connection
b)Poor electrical connection
c)Faulty AF 1 bank 1 sensor
Code 2: P1401
EGR temperature sensor
Code 3: P0705
Park neutral position (PNP) switch fault
Probable cause:
a)Open or short circuit connection
b)Failed PNP switch
And on this third one, which the Autozone guy said he had never saw before, he scribbled in handwriting on the paper "trans range sensor A circuit" And here's what I noticed. When I was changing the driver's side axle I still had the passenger wheel on the car up in the air. When the car was idling in neutral, the passenger side tire would slowly turn. Once the axle was replaced and the driver's side wheel put back on, I tested this again, and yep, if the front two wheels are in the air and the motor is idling in neutral, they turn (forward). Doh!
