Couple of brake light questions, probably something simple
So i searched around a bit looking to see if this had been discussed before, but didn't find anything definitive. My brake lights aren't working, I've checked every fuse in the car (that I know of), and everything is good. I checked the bulbs they are good. I was looking at the brake pedal and there are 2 switches on mine. I know one of the switches is the brake light switch, but what is the other one?

I was looking in the FSM and notice that there was only one switch on the diagram. This is on a b14 se-r, and according to the schematic, there is a red/green wire from the switch to the light. I looked in the trunk, and saw the red/green wire, it was on a connector that went to the green wire on the tail light harness, so that's all good.
I pulled the connector on the pedal switch with the red/green wire, and shorted it together, which i figured would turn on the tail lights, and point to the switch as the culprit. No dice.

Am I missing something obvious, or does someone have any suggestions as far as what I need to look at? Thanks _jeff

Did you trace the wiring in the trunk from the bulbs ? Does your dome light work? I noticed when the dome light and or stereo suddenly don't work at least in the B13/B14 there's some kinda issue w/ fuses

I traced the wire from the bulb back to the plug, and noted that the wire going to the bulb corresponds with the red/green wire from the switch on the pedal. Should run a continuity check on the wire on the switch to the plug at the bulb?

The dome light does not work, but the fuse is in tact. I've checked all the fuses under dash and under hood, that I know of. The main fuse panel on the left of the drivers side floor, and the fuse box under hood.

if your dimmer switch (left side of the steering wheel) doesnt work it will cause your tail lights to not work

Well I figured it out last night. I remembered that I had 3 other fuses that were from the trunk mount battery distribution block, none of them were blown, and I metered all of them, then stuck them back in the block. Checked the lights and everything was kosher. Thanks for the help y'all, expect more of these questions in the near future. I'm about to start working on the turbo car again.

The 2nd switch on the brake pedal is for the cruise control system.
