I know you didn't ask, but if you're going for straight-line traction you can benefit, but if you're worried about corners and transitions, the extreme reverse stretch hurts more than the width helps. What's the use case?
Looking more for handling than straight line. Plus they wouldn't hurt in the traction department. But if the reverse stretch has adverse affects on handling, I'll stick wirh 205s.
Well, straight line traction does include the other direction too .... braking. But an optimized contact patch is the best.
Even if you don't plan on buying from them go to TireRack's website. Between their testing and actual dimensions of different tires from the manufacturers it's an invaluable resource.
