Ok I just heard back from ARP on this matter.

12mm ARP head studs are made from the 8740 material

11mm ARP head studs are made from ARP2000

Both studs are designed to work on all sr20, minus gtir.

There you have it, from the horses mouth.

Jay,

Certainly entertain a VET headgasket.

Certainly entertain upgrading headstuds while you are there. Whatever your wallet can afford. Lots of silvia boys have had problems with the ARP so that is why that has leaked over here.

An MLS type gasket usually calls for a super flat surface but many folks have skirted that by cleaning up the two mating surfaces and going back to work.

Will VET gasket work for GTi-r? What's the going rate and best place to source these head gaskets?

They will but the headstuds on a GTi-R are slightly larger so these holes need enlarged to accommodate the GTi-R headstuds.
