IACV questions
My car has honestly never idled right, and I'd like to fix it. I was thinking about replacing the IACV for starters, but I never knew that there were two different ones. One for auto, one for 5spd. Do any of you know the difference between the two?

I tried that once. I don't remember how it acted, but it was bad enough that I just put it back on.

I'm not even sure which one is on my car right now. Car was an automatic, that I switched to 5 speed, and I have no idea what motor the Iacv that's currently on it is from.

vacuum leaks?

I'd assume the difference between auto/manual IACV would be it's ability to control idle when you put the car into neutral and also maybe when the clutch is pushed in. Perhaps the auto one doesn't recognize those signals from the ECU.

I took my IACV off and cleaned the hell out of it and tested all of the solenoids. It idles good now, I would give that a try before you spend money on another one.
