Ford Mustang Stealth Hood Pins

@BenFenner, I did read on those a while back and they look a bit thick to sit on top our skinny Radiator support. The mustang has so much thicker material there.

There have been some reviews concerning the hood releasing prematurely under driving, but the vendor recommendation is to clean the fixtures often, which alot of folks forget about.

I really wanted to not have to use hood pins/latches either but I picked a set of these up a lil while ago to see if there was a way I could stealth mount them. Haven't really played around with them yet.

I was playing around with the idea of those also and see many applications from some web searches on the Quik-Latch brand.

I don't think it would be to difficult to reverse mount those. You'd have to mount them close to the center though to be able to access the release.

Yo roger long time my man. i bought my hood and trunk together some time ago. i daily my car and i work on it alot so im constantly popping the hood and what not. i have recently noticed my hood is cracking where the arm goes that holds the hood up, i figure this is due to the hood not being able to support all of its weight in just a small thin area. and ive seen very small more like stress marks on my hood latch. when i close my hood i make sure i put it down gently and latch it. then from right about where the latch is i push down there on the hood to latch it closed all the way. be sure not to push to hard or fast or you might have the scare of your life. I ditch the whole latch setup and with aerocatch hood pins only. I feel much more at ease with it just done and knowing it isnt going to release on its own someday.

Not a seibon, but you get the idea.

Roger,

That crack is due to the latch not being made to support the hood like a OEM hood. Trust me it broke my heart to drill my hood. With the power your car makes hood latches are a must. Cheaper to replace a hood than a expensive repair to fix the body on the car.
