Which compact driver to get? Mini driver discussion
I already own a couple makita drivers, now I'm looking at compact ones for tight spaces where 10mm head bolts reside. Makita offers a smaller version of their regular impact driver, that looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/Makita-LXDT06Z-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-3-Speed/dp/B00BL7BZD2/ref=cm_rdp_product

But they also have this available: Bare-Tool Makita BTL061Z 18-Volt LXT Angle Impact Driver (Tool Only, No Battery) - Power Impact Drivers - Amazon.com

I like both of these for their compactness. I really like the very short head of the second one, but the long length is what worries me, which keeps me going back to the first one.

I've also looked at a Bosch mini, as well as a Milwaukee that looks closer to the second makita (long and compact).

Just looking for some opinions or maybe experience using any types of these drivers and maybe some limitations they have in certain areas on our cars. Right now I'm thinking the long angle head one, but I'd like to hear some opinions first.

I use the first one for work as a residential electrician and sometimes use it to work on my car(whenever I don't leave it at work).
Its a useful tool to have, but it is bulky in tight spaces.

The second would definitely fit but the length does look like it would make it awkward to work with sometimes.
I'd have to see the second in person to definitely say though.

To work on our cars more, I'd definitely grab the second one actually.
After adding the length of the 3/8" or 1/2" adapter it'll make the most sense.

I have similar DeWalt products in my wish list on amazon. A 1/4 impact with a very small head and a right angle drill.
