The OEM switch that came out was bent at an extreme angle, no doubt. However, when I replaced it with the new switch, I didnt need to bend it the same way and it fit perfectly. It only has a slight bend before heading to the connector, a far cry from how it was. I tried jiggling everything before replacing it, including the switch and the tumbler, and the car was dead in the water. Replaced the piece and it hasnt skipped a beat. Considering how the original piece looked, it sure seems to have been the problem.

Wow, I'm glad I never got around to installing a remote starter in that car before selling it to you, otherwise you would have really been cursing me as a jerk. Do you think the alternator/starter/battery replacement was caused by the ignition switch, or maybe they weren't necessary at all?

I sorta miss owning a Nissan. But alas, Nissan gave up on the hatchback Sentra, so I ended up with a hatchback Corolla (Vibe/Matrix). If only they had offered the hatch/wagon P11 here!
