The one thing about an electronic device to convert mechanical distributor to COP is that it has to be tailored to the specific coil specs. That's why in a standalone that supports smart coils you have to setup dwell, min, max, rising edge or falling edge etc etc.. or you can burn up coils. We were trying the same thing last year and gave up on the project. Easier to use a S13 ecu or just go standalone. Since the technology exists why re-invent the wheel (was our thoughts after playing with it)
From the EMS software:
Note that the options "Dwell Max" and "Dwell Min" will override the Dwell Factor, Dwell vs Batt Volts, and Dwell vs RPM settings.
It is recommended to monitor the Dwell Time channel, which shows the actual dwell time of the pulse being sent from the EMS to the ignition coil (or ignitor, if equipped).
