Can you elaborate on that a little more? @Dave_SR20

I can only speak from my experience with the Haltech ECU..When running the COP we have to switch the type to direct fire and the trigger angles will change vs firing batch or Sequential. The haltech has built in drivers and don't need an extra 4 channel module to fire individual coils

Hondata coil pack retrofit (patent pending)

I talked to @JKTUNING about something like one of those for our vehicles. I'd be all over it. Maybe if everyone shows interest he will consider development.

Holy shit, $400!
I'm curious about this. Hopefully john will show up and give us a run down on what it would take.

I have actually helped a bunch of FWD guys with NismoTronicSA convert over to use the RWD S13 ECU and a COP setup.

It works very well and isn't too difficult if you have access to the parts and don't mind a little wiring.

I will see if I can direct this thread to them and have someone chime in.

i have the s15/20v cop setup with the nemu. has enuf power to fire coppers in 9:1 afr's on e85

it was fairly seemless really. using the s13 ecu. i ran 3 extra wires out to the engine bay for triggers of the coils.

the s15 coils dont seem to be as reliable as others. 1.8 corolla coils also work well and last forever.

What about a retro fit like hondata has?

That would be a great option, but right now we haven't been working on anything for the Nissan platform.

It "might" be in the future though!

Just a thought, but what about using the existing distributor cap and rotor to "route" the ignition signal to the proper coil? Probably too high of resistance through the cap and coil for that...

Something like that is in the works. Just in a different way. Stay tuned.
