Thread: seibon carbon trunk fitment

Just curious, has any one who purchased the sibon carbon fiber hood and trunks. for B13had any issues mainly with the fitment of the trunk, but the hood also? I just receive a complaint about the trunk I sold, guy said the latch was off by 1 inch, he had to make major modifications to make it fit. I asumed there would be no issues with these, since for 1; they where manufactured by a reputable vendor, 2; I assumed these pieces were test fitted that all the bugs would have been worked out so each piece was perfect.

An inch is a lot ask the kid you sold it to if the car was hit in the rear cuz the one I had fit perfectly

The location of where the latch goes is not off itself. The issue is the thickness of where the latch bolts to. On the stock trunk its about 1/8 of an inch and on the Seibon trunk its about 3/4 to 1 inch thick. Needless to say the latch mechanism does not fit and eating away the material is incredibly difficult due to the location of the excess material.

my hood lines up pretty much on point. my trunk is off by a stash. im sure if i play around with it i could make it fit right but i dont mind it being off by a bit.

Both my hood and trunk fit damn near perfect.

lol both mine are still wrapped up but subscribed so I know where to look for when I fit mine in the next five years

Hood fits perfect, trunk had issues when trying to close. Had to move the latch and the locking mechanism a bit to get it to shut. Otherwise good fit.

I'm in the same boat! had mine stored since the 1st GB and might paint my car next year

Had to turn my hood rubbers down a tad on each side, but perfect hood fitment, otherwise Same as blusteelsr20 for me.
