Has anyone experienced this and can validate my theory?
If you would watch the video and tell me if the knocking noise could be an ignition issue. I changed the timing chain tensioner and that made no difference. My theory is that it might be an ignition issue. It hurts me to play this
+9 on rod knock, stop running the motor and there's a chance you can throw bearings in and go. You have to examine the crank and rods though to be sure.....
Those crank journals are out of round if the noise is that loud. No bearing replacement will fix this. It's new motor time. The sooner you accept this the sooner you can move forward.
Throw some gear oil in it for the time being...it will buy you a few extra hundred miles as long as you baby it.
