Thread: found a clean p10 as is...question though...

Had this been a few years ago and the kids were younger I would have bought it and thrown a motor in it. I have yet to see a highport this clean. The trouble is at 1200, and a potential bent valve (which is possible) that would come out to 450 for a motor and another 600 for a swap on top of possible maintence so this could easily end up being over 2500 where I could get a private owner car at that stage and a possible 5 speed with no problems.

....still agree with others that I wouldn't pay more than $800 tops in the questionable condition it is in!

..so his as says $1295 and only willing to take $95 off? Run away (don't walk, but RUN) ...let some other sucker buy it or let him take it to auction and be lucky to get $500



...there is also the possibility (as I have had this happen more than once) that it sits on their lot a few more weeks and suddenly you get a phone call with him willing to go down on price some more. I got $500 off on a used car this way once (waited him out 2 months and then bought it for only $100 more than I wanted to pay instead of $1000 more he wanted from the 1st day) <-- each phone call knocked about $200 more off the price until he got to the (this is my bottom line or I take my chance at auction)... and I decided to take the extra $100 risk (kept that car all of 4 months and sold it for what I paid so I broke even on that deal)

If you want to fly out to KS you can get a clean P10, but the guy's price is way too high. I already sent him an e-mail asking why it's priced so high and got a bunch of BS, but it's been for sale for a while:

It's a 5 speed.
