To my knowledge in the 2-3 years they have been in business this is the first act of vandalism. And I'm thankful that Arjay is a bad shot because I believe he fired at the guy. But 50 yards and gaining ground, around midnight and moving from the light to the dark were bad odds anyway.

Time to hit the range for some practice.

Sorry to hear @happynole That is precisely how insurance functions.

Sadly I beleive you are correct.

Insurance company business model:
1) Collect as much as the market will bear
2) Pay out as little as legally possibly
3) Deflect costs to any other entity that can be found

And with that I spit out the bitter pill before it consumes me

And somewhere along there they have massive amounts of profit.

I'm not entirely up on gun laws, but if he hit the guy I'm pretty sure he would have gotten charged w/something and if he killed him -- even worse. I don't think that would have been a lawful shooting. Justified in my eyes, but not the law. Maybe someone can correct me if wrong. People always say they'll shoot someone who messes w/their car, but it may cause you more issues than the loss of a few items in the long run.

that really sux. I feel for you. I've had my share of my car broken into and it really pisses me off. First time, it was my radio/mp3 player. 2nd time it was my brand new GPS that I just happen to forget that ONE night. Both of these were directly outside my house at the time. Literally, less than 10 ft from the front door.
I've even had my 240sx stolen, also in front of my house(different house, I used to be one of those craigslist renters) I didn't even know about until my coworker told me he saw a car that looks like mine sitting in the middle of an intersection. I had to call the local police to find out and report my stolen car. Then drive all over different cities to claim my vehicle since it was stolen in one city, but brought to another city and then towed and parked at another city!
But, good luck w/ whatever you do. Hopefully, your insurance may cover some of the losses or hopefully your friend w/ the shotgun bullets hit some of em....
